Cuir Améthyste is Mr. Armani’s tribute to Russian leather accord, one of the most famous icons of perfumery. In the Russian steppes, the Cossack warriors cared for their leather boots by rubbing them with a mixture of birch bark. Over time, the leather was permeated with resin-like notes of an animal fragrance.
